outreach

Public engagement, science communication, and outreach activities.

Alongside my research, I hold a deep passion for science outreach. Fostering an appreciation and understanding of science among school children in India is critically important to me — engaging with young minds and kindling their interest in the scientific world brings me immense joy and satisfaction.

I had the honor of being invited as a judge for the National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC) 2023, Regional level, in Bengaluru, where I assessed innovative science projects from young students and discussed my research with them.

I have also delivered a public talk, “The Universe in Your Pocket,” at the Raman Research Institute’s (RRI) outreach program for school children, using accessible language and illustrative visuals to inspire a passion for astronomy.

In January 2024, I was part of the RRI team at the India International Science Festival (IISF) in Faridabad, Haryana — an opportunity to engage with the public and with school and college students on astrophysics and cosmology. RRI was honored with the “Best Conceptual Pavilion” award for our team’s approach to making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging.
